29 Nov: Sergio Ramos finally made his first appearance

Sergio Ramos finally made his Paris Saint-Germain debut over the weekend in their 3-1 win over Saint-Etienne at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Ramos played 90 minutes alongside Marquinhos at the heart of PSG’s defence, winning five of his seven duels and completing 94.1 percent of the passes he attempted. Of the nine long passes he tried, seven were accurate.

Ramos himself was expectedly delighted to have gotten up and running in France, ending his long wait to debut.

“I really wanted to get back and start contributing.”

29 Nov: Eden Hazard sale reportedly sanctioned…

Real Madrid will reportedly sanction the sale of Eden Hazard if they receive an offer of £34m for the 30-year-old.

El Nacional reports that Real Madrid are willing to cut their losses and sanction a permanent exit for just £34m, with his deal due to expire in 2024.

The report claims that president Florentino Perez lost patience with Hazard ‘a long time ago’, and Newcastle United are the only club willing to take him on.

Hazard boasts just five goals and nine assists from 54 games in a Real Madrid shirt and missed the weekend’s win over Sevilla due to gastroenteritis.

29 Nov: Benzema misses out on Ballon d’Or… again

Karim Benzema has been a leading light for Real Madrid since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus in 2018, but his dream of winning the Ballon d’Or will not come to fruition this year.

Many believed that this was his year to win the accolade, with former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane voicing his opinion recently.

“Karim Benzema deserves the Ballon d’Or, simply because right now he is ahead of the rest,” Zidane said in an interview with Telefoot.

29 Nov: Ralf Rangnick appointed as manager Man Utd

German coach Ralf Rangnick was hired Monday as Manchester United manager until the end of the season.

The arrival of Rangnick, a pioneer of the high-intensity pressing game developed in Germany and increasingly dominant in world soccer over the last decade, should shake up the playing style of United as the team looks to rescue its season.

United is in eighth place in the Premier League, 12 points off leader Chelsea after 13 games.

Rangnick efforts for the next six months will be on helping these United players fulfil their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team.

Pulisic has been tipped to complete a move away from Chelsea in 2022, with Barcelona and Liverpool both linked with a swoop.

However, El Nacional claims that Chelsea do not wish to sell to a direct domestic rival, seemingly handing Barcelona a boost in their pursuit of the American.

La Blaugrana’s financial issues may end up presenting a roadblock in any deal, though, as the report adds that Chelsea will not sanction a sale for anything less than €50m (£42.2m) in straight cash.

25 Nov: PSG step up pursuit of Zidane

Paris Saint-Germain are understood to have met with Zinedine Zidane in a bid to make the 49-year-old their new coach.

As Le Parisien report, at that meeting from PSG’s side were sporting director Leonardo and Jean-Claude Blanc, the club’s general manager and a good friend of Zidane’s.

The idea that’s been mooted is that Zidane – unwilling to break his sabbatical – would take the reins at the Parc des Princes next summer.

Southgate’s future with the national team had been the subject of speculation for some time, but the Three Lions boss has now ended such talk over his next career move by committing himself to England until the winter of 2024 alongside assistant coach Steve Holland.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly stated that he is willing to leave the French outfit and take over at Manchester United immediately.

Since his time as Tottenham Hotspur boss, the Argentinian has been linked with a move to the Red Devils, and rumours have intensified since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.

According to Daily Mail, Pochettino would be prepared to quit in Paris with immediate effect should the hierarchy at Old Trafford offer him the job.

Such an update follows reports claiming that the manager is unsettled with the Parisiens, having failed to secure the Ligue 1 title last season, while his family remain in London.
